Description
This student is pursuing her second year of an ITI course in a private college near Vellore. Her father is no more. Her mother abandoned the girl five years ago and could not be traced. She has an older brother but he has gone away to Bangalore in search of employment.
A relative takes care of the student and is helping her with her studies. The relative, who is a daily wage farm labourer, has two sons to take care of but he aims to give the girl a good education too.
The student's academic work has suffered because of the familial problems she has undergone. However, she shows keen interest in pursuing her studies and taking up a career. Hence, Aalayam has agreed to fund her college fees of Rs. 20,000.
